We are proud to be one of the very first beneficiaries of this Kickstart Scheme.
The Kickstart Scheme is a government initiative aimed at creating new job placements for 16–24-year-olds in the UK who are on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
Through this scheme, young people referred to us from the local jobcentre plus can apply for various government-funded positions within our organisation to work for us for a period of six months.
During the work placement programme, they will be mentored by experienced staff to make the best of their roles and help them polish their skills.
Part of the support they will also receive is using the Barclays Job Skills Website to study about interview skills, how to build their CV and practice on online assessment tests.
Other life skills they will gain from the portal are personal finance management and living independently.
