ACS-UK as an endorsed learning provider is delivering the following Skills for Care training programmes.

This training is divided into three categories namely, rapid Induction program, refresher training, and volunteer program.

Rapid induction programme is primarily for new workers within a carehome or nursing home.

The program covers the following areas: Assisting and moving people; basic life support; fire safety; food safety; health and safety awareness; infection prevention and control; medication management and safeguarding (specifically around isolation). The rapid induction also contains the main knowledge elements from the Care Certificate.

Refresher Training: This is forstaff who require refresher training because it has expired or is about to will expire.

The refresher training covers 8 topic areas to choose. They include: assisting and moving people; basic life support; fire safety; food safety; health & safety awareness; infection prevention & control; medication management and safeguarding (specifically around isolation).

Volunteer Programme:

This programme is for those interested in volunteering in Health and Social care. The training includes:  introduction to adult social care; role and responsibilities; whistleblowing; equality, diversity and person centred values; telephone support and communication; pain and discomfort; infection prevention and control; food safety; fluids and hydration; health and safety and stress.

Heathcare providers who want to access training for their staff will need to have Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) account. ACS-UK can provide support in registering if needed.

Skills for Care has awarded funding to a number of user led organisations to deliver learning and development for individual employers and personal assistants.  Healthcare providers can access The Workforce Development Fund (WDF) supports the provision of high-quality care and the continuing professional development (CPD) of staff towards the costs of vocational learning. 

The funding allows your organization to claim back money towards the costs of workers completing a broad range of adult social care qualifications, learning programs, and digital learning modules.
