Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression
ACS-UK’s Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) Training equips healthcare professionals, care staff, and support workers with the practical knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to prevent, manage, and respond to challenging behaviour safely and effectively.
The course covers the legal and ethical principles of PMVA, understanding the causes and types of aggression, communication and de-escalation techniques, risk assessment and management, safe physical intervention methods, post-incident procedures, and realistic scenario-based practice.
Delivered through interactive workshops, practical exercises, group discussions, and role-play activities, the training is led by experienced professionals and focuses on promoting safety, safeguarding, and best practice within health and social care environments. Upon successful completion, participants receive a PMVA Training Certificate recognised across the UK healthcare sector.
